Annual Meeting – Poster Information
All poster presenters must be registered and paid no later than June 7 to secure a poster spot. Your poster will be removed from the program if payment has not been received by June 7.
Sunday, August 11, 2013
Poster setup will begin at 11:00 am. Location for posters is Pavilion, Sheraton San Diego Hotel. Poster setup must be completed no later than 4:00 pm on Sunday.
Poster Session 1 will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Monday, August 12, 2013
Poster Session 2 will be held from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, immediately following the SIMB Industry Award lecture by Amgen.

Please Note: Poster dismantle will begin at 10:00am, following the morning coffee break. All posters must be removed from the exhibit hall no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Posters left up beyond that time may be discarded.
After checking in at the SIMB registration desk you will be directed to the Pavilion to set up your poster. Badges must be worn for entrance into the hall. SIMB staff will be available to answer any questions regarding your presentation.
Each 3-hour poster session will be divided into two 1-1/2 hour periods, depending upon topic. You will be notified of the specific day and time of your presentation. Presenters are required to stand by their posters and present during the specified 1-1/2 hour time period.
- Poster size is 4′ x 4′. There will be two posters per side of the 4′ x 8′ board. Larger posters may not overlap others. Failure to extend courtesy to other presenters may result in removal of a poster.
- Abstracts scheduled for poster session presentation will be grouped by topic. Poster sessions will be held: Sunday, August 11 and Monday, August 12. You will be notified of your session and time via email. Also check the printed meeting program onsite.
- Posters should be mounted on assigned boards. Locate your poster number in the meeting program. Your poster number will be posted on your board prior to setup. Poster pins will be available at the registration desk and in the poster hall.
- Type should be easily legible at a distance of several feet. Please do not write, draw or paste on the poster boards.
Best Student Poster Presentation Awards
Students participating in the Best Student Poster Presentation competition will be judged onsite during the hours of presentation, either Sunday or Monday. Each 3-hour poster session will be divided into two 1-1/2 hour periods, depending upon topic.
Students are required to stand by their posters and be ready to discuss their posters during the specified 1-1/2 hour time period in order to be eligible for the cash award.
Poster slots are limited and no-shows registered for the meeting will be disqualified from the competition and may not be invited to present in the future.
Winners will be notified either via a phone message to the student’s hotel room or via text or voice message.
