Tiffany D. Rau
Tiffany D Rau earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (ChE) from Vanderbilt University and received her B.S.E. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.Tiffany D. Rau, PhD currently leads the Fermentation Development and Tech Transfer Team at Evonik-Degussa in Lafayette, Indiana. Tiffany has a wealth of global technical and managerial experience and expertise in process development, commercialization, manufacturing, and facility start-up from companies that include Eli Lilly, Pall Corporation, and GlaxoSmithKline. Tiffany is also a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and is active in academia (Vanderbilt University Senior Design and ChE Advisory Board and Florida State and Florida A & M ChE Advisory Board).
Lawrence Chew received his BSc (Hons) and PhD in Biochemistry from University of Birmingham, England. After a post-doctoral at Monsanto Company, his career in strain and fermentation development has spanned from early development to commercial manufacturing of biopesticides, food and industrial enzymes and biochemicals, as well as biopharmaceuticals and vaccines at Mycogen, Nutrasweet-Kelco, Dow Chemical, and Pfenex. He is currently Senior Director of Technical Development at PaxVax, leading Fermentation and Analytical Development efforts in vaccine development involving live attenuated bacteria & viruses, as well as virus-like particles. His responsibilities include process development, scale-up, tech transfer and continued technical support to internal GMP manufacturing sites and CMO’s, assay development and validation, and writing CMC sections for regulatory submissions.
