Due to growing health concerns around COVID-19 coronavirus SIMB has cancelled the 42nd Symposium on Biomaterials, Fuels and Chemicals. Please read the FAQ section on the SBFC website for more information.

The 42nd Symposium on Biomaterials, Fuels and Chemicals will take place as scheduled on April 26-29, 2020 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans. We understand that attendees from countries with travel restrictions will be unable to participate in person. The situation remains fluid and SIMB will provide updates as they become available.

In support of our attendees and staff, SIMB is following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) as well as state and local health authorities. SIMB will work with the Astor Crowne Plaza to ensure:
• Increased availability of hand sanitizer throughout the hotel
• Individual hand sanitizer provided with registration materials
• Modified food service practices to optimize food safety/handling
• Assistance with access to medical support if needed
