What are exhibitor showcases?
Exhibitor showcases are 10-minute presentations where companies present new products, company profiles, new technologies, and/or services they provide. Join us during the showcases to learn more about what these companies are doing and have to offer.
12:15-12:25 PM – Sartorius-Stedim
Based on the well-proven ambr® principle we designed with ambr 15F an instrument perfectly matching the demand of early steps in the development of microbial fermentation products. The multi-fermentation unit allows, with a working volume just large enough to resemble larger scale processes, the screening for suitable clones, strains or growth conditions. In two case studies with industrial partners using E. coli and P. pastoris, consistent and efficient control of fermentations across a variety culture conditions (e.g. feed, temperature, duration, pH) could be demonstrated.
12:35-12:45 PM – Aber Instruments
Aber will show our compact, lightweight biomass monitoring instrumentation that can be used on conventional and disposable bioreactors. The Futura Biomass Monitor provides accurate in situ live cell concentration and biomass spectra monitoring for all cell types. The range includes the PICO probe designed for small bioreactors.
12:15-12:25 PM – Moubio, LLC
Because of large scale fermentations’ high heterogeneity nature, scale up is not practical. Moubio presents 3 scale down mini jar reactors to match respectively the 3 distinctive mixing zones in large production vessels – the laminar, turbulent and transitional gas-liquid-solid mixing. Also a poster presentation in Advanced Fermentation Concepts track.
12:25-12:35 PM – BlueSens Corporation
Simple PID control without programming in BlueVis.
We present a method to use the PID controller within BlueVis, our unified bioprocess management solution, a user-friendly way to maintain control over process parameters such as pO2 and pH without the necessity for coding. In addition, we will show how to find the values for “P”, “I” and “D”.
12:35-12:45 PM – KEIT Spectrometer
Keit has developed a novel FTIR spectrometer focused on in-situ monitoring of liquid processes. The IRmadillo spectrometer operates as a rugged concentration meter for fermentations and other bio and non-bio processes, giving live concentration values deep in to the liquid matrix.
12:15-12:25 PM – Applikon Biotechnology, Inc.
Improve workflow and efficiency with a single integrated Process Information Management System (PIMS) software solution for the entire bioprocess. Development of a productive bioprocess starts in research and process development laboratories that rely on a variety of sophisticated instruments and software tools. Instruments include online and offline analytical tools, bioprocess controllers and ancillary equipment such as scales and pumps. A variety of software tools are used for DOE, planning, sampling, supervisory control and data acquisition and finally for data evaluation. Workflow is significantly hampered because laboratory instrumentation and software operate independently. Applikon’s “Lucullus” PIMS streamlines workflow with a single fully integrated software solution.
12:25-12:35 PM – Applikon Biotechnology, Inc.
Applikon introduces V-Control, an automation solution designed for laboratory bioreactor systems, built on Emerson’s recently released DeltaV™ Discovery. V-Control harnesses the power of DeltaV™ Discovery in an off-the-shelf configurable package with a smaller footprint at a lower price point. V-Control combines the best of DeltaV automation with Applikon bioprocessing know-how providing users the ideal solution for R&D and process development. Accelerate bioprocess development and seamlessly transfer technology from process development from to manufacturing with V-Control.
12:35-12:45 PM – Applikon Biotechnology, Inc.
Applikon introduces Lumisens, a new small diameter optical dissolved oxygen sensor designed specifically for mini-scale bioreactors. This intelligent sensor system can be directly integrated with Applikon controllers via USB making smart features available directly on the local controller. Monitor and proactively manage sensor performance to minimize failures and maximize reliable performance.
