The meeting will be held on November 4 – 6 in Clearwater Beach, FL at the Wyndham Grand Hotel.

Taking into account the feedback from past RAMC meeting attendees, this year’s conference has been condensed to three days of cutting-edge scientific presentations discussing recent trends and advancements in the field of microbial control. The theme of the meeting is Microbiomes Matter, and the focus of the sessions will be on the significant effect that microbiome research and methodology is having on all fields of applied microbiology, including the control of microbial populations in agricultural, food/food safety, built environments and in “man-made” materials as well as on understanding the resistome. While this theme is important to the meeting, we also encourage participants interested in microbial control without experience in microbiomes to attend and present, as the central focus of this meeting is still microbial control.

We are excited to offer a pre-meeting workshop which will review the tools and techniques utilized to explore and critically analyze the impact of the microbiome in industrial applications and guide microbial control solutions. We are also planning on featuring key talks in a future special issue of the Journal of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology. As with previous meetings, we will also feature student and industry posters during our Poster Reception. We are currently working to solidify Keynote and Banquet Speakers.

Previous conference attendees have commented positively on the great networking environment present at RAMC conferences. We look to continue this aspect and have included sponsored breakfasts, lunches, receptions and breaks to facilitate this interaction. On a final note, we are always looking to deliver and feature the most relevant and timely subject matter at RAMC. We encourage and welcome your feedback and suggestions, and we are always eager to recruit volunteers to help shape the future of RAMC conferences. We are looking forward to seeing you in sunny Florida!

Regards,

Robert Donofrio, M.S.
