In his multidisciplinary research lab Knights combines expertise in data mining and biology to advance detection of microbiota-related disease in children, adults, and non-human primates. On the computational side, Knights develops algorithms and software for making more precise measurements of microbial communities and for building more accurate predictive models of the microbiome for clinical applications.
