Brian Foody has been the CEO of Iogen since 1986. He is responsible for Iogen’s strategic and technology direction. Under his leadership, Iogen has been a pioneer in cellulosic ethanol. Brian has contributed greatly to advances in the technology, including the areas of pretreatment, hydrolysis, and feedstock processing. Raizen’s cellulosic ethanol plant in Brazil uses Iogen’s process to convert sugar-cane bagasse to ethanol. Brian also led the earlier effort of Iogen to build a successful business manufacturing industrial enzymes. Brian graduated from MIT in 1980 with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
