Rapid techniques for assessing microbial control – validation and application

Microbial control practices are essential components in many industries (including food, water and health care) for protecting public health and producing safe products for consumers. The methods used for monitoring the effectiveness of preventative and remedial measures must meet the time and sensitivity constraints of the specific industries. Standard microbial methods are becoming obsolete and industry is turning to rapid methodology to meet their diagnostic needs. This session discusses novel, rapid approaches for assessing microbial control in various industry sectors. Additionally, this session addresses method validation and quality control as elements of microbial control.
