Poster Presentations
Poster spaces are limited. Please do not submit an abstract unless you are committed to attending the meeting and presenting. To be assured of a poster space after receiving an acceptance, each poster must have the presenting author registered and paid by the advanced registration deadline date, April 20, 2026. Substitutions for the presenting author must be identified by contacting SIMB directly. In the case of a substitution, the new presenter must also be registered and paid by required date.
Authors
All posters accepted and displayed must have at least one author available to discuss the poster. This author may present only two posters within a single poster session, and present no more than a total of three posters in both poster sessions, i.e., a single author may present a maximum of two (2) posters in one poster session and one (1) poster in the other poster session.
Questions
If you have any questions or concerns about your presentation, please contact our Meetings Department.
Rapid Fire Posters
The Rapid Fire Poster Session primarily highlights the work of students. There is a new option in 2026 to include post-docs and early career professionals if there are slots available.
What is a Rapid Fire Poster presentation?
Rapid Fires are short oral presentations of accepted posters. Each Rapid Fire is one-minute in length and includes one slide.
How do I express interest in presenting a Rapid Fire Poster?
When submitting your abstract, check “Yes” to the question “I wish to be considered for the Rapid Fire Poster Showcase”.
I am not a student, post-doc or early career professional. Can my poster be considered for the Rapid Fire Session?
If there are additional slots after these groups have been spotlighted, the window may open up to abstracts not submitted by students, post-docs, or early career professionals.
Please note:
Selecting the option to be considered for the Rapid Fire Poster Session does not guarantee acceptance into the Rapid Fire Poster Session, even if your abstract is accepted as a poster presentation.
Poster Size
Poster boards are 96″ (243.84 cm) high by 48″ (121.92 cm) wide. Separate labeling with the poster title and authors may be prepared for the top of your poster space. There will be two posters per side of each 96″ x 48″ board. Poster size should NOT exceed 48” x 36” (121.92 cm x 91.44 cm).
