Fairfax, VA (October 11, 2022) – Due to the recent impact of Hurricane Ian on Florida’s gulf coast, SIMB is relocating the 14^th conference on Recent Advances in Fermentation Technology (RAFT®14) from the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs to the Caribe Royale in Orlando to ensure the meeting proceeds on schedule, November 6–9, 2022.

The new meeting hotel, the Caribe Royale, is a beautiful all-suites oasis located near the Orlando International Airport and Disney Theme Parks complete with its own pool, water slide, and a variety of other fun activities onsite and nearby. SIMB is grateful to the entire Caribe Royale team for accommodating the event on such short notice, and we’re looking forward to a tremendous event there in November.

SIMB is also working closely with those affected by these changes to provide important information about the relocation and what we’re doing to ease the transition. Notably, SIMB has extended various participation deadlines to give participants time to revise their travel plans.

If anyone is unable to attend the meeting due to the relocation, SIMB is waiving its cancellation fee on all cancellations received by Friday, October 14.

In the remaining weeks leading up to the meeting, SIMB will be taking extra care to provide participants with all the information they need to attend RAFT® at its new location and to get the most from this special meeting experience.

After all, despite the difficult circumstances posed by this year’s hurricane season, RAFT® remains the premier conference on new developments in fermentation technology, offering powerful learning opportunities, valuable industry connections, and a sunny southern getaway for the industrial microbiology and biotechnology community.
