Fairfax, VA (April 3, 2023) – We were lucky to hold the 3rd Natural Products Conference in January 2020 just as COVID-19 was about to sweep the globe. Three years later, we were so pleased to welcome the 4th International Conference on Natural Product Discovery and Development in the Genomic Era back to San Diego on January 8 – 12, 2023, with a record-setting attendance of 297 participants from 20 countries. Like the previous meetings, the 4th Natural Products Conference was again jointly sponsored by SIMB, the Korean Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology (KMB), and the Society of Actinomycetes Japan (SAJ).

Fairfax, VA (March 20, 2023) – The Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB) is excited to announce a new conference coming to San Diego, CA, on November 3–6, 2024: Connecting Microbiome Communities (CMiC)—the microbes and those who study them! Integrating insights across ecosystems and sectors, CMiC will be a place for those working on microbiomes in industry, academia, or government labs to explore common challenges, create shared solutions, and establish new collaborations.

The SIMB Election for positions on the Board of Directors will commence March 1, 2023. The election will close at noon EDT on March 31, 2023, and members must join/renew by noon EDT, March 30 2023, to be eligible to vote.Current members for 2023 will receive login instructions for accessing the voting module.
Results will be published on the SIMB website and in SIMB News.
Student members are not eligible to vote.

Fairfax, VA (February 7, 2023) – The Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology (SIMB) is always seeking new ways to bring its members together to connect and collaborate. Our meetings are premier opportunities for learning and networking with peers, but SIMB is also exploring new opportunities for members to get the most out of this community. Today, we’re excited to tell you about two of these new programs!
